I'm back...Mmmmmm...Pizza rules...

Ok, where was I?...Oh yeah...our individual tasks...

Eranta, our Marketing Researcher, has been working on a marketing plan for the project, and has made a SWOT report. This is for inclusion in the production log which I am working on. She is currently working on setting up a 'Myspace' site for the park, and she is also looking at making some promotional flyers for the park.

Eugene, our Sound Engineer/Musical Director, has a difficult job, as the music (as is normal in these projects) has to be left until last because it needs to be synched-up with the images of the final edit of the promo trailer. He is currently going throught the storyboard and script and "sourcing" some pre-existing music, as well as creating some suitable tracks that we can use in some form when the editing of the visuals is complete. He is also looking for some background images that will be used as backdrops when we superimpose them onto the green screen.

We all participated in the filming and performing of the promo, taking turns at filming and being filmed.

Ok, so I'm gonna get back to my report writing...

If the University facilities are not available, as I suspect may be the case, I think an extension of a week would be only fair...

Let's see what Monday brings...

Good luck everyone!!

Extension, please!!...

The University is CLOSED FOR THE WEEK?!...

I don't really understand how we are expected to meet the deadline for Thursday the 1st of February when the University is closed on that week?! As far as I understand, we have NO ACCESS TO ANY MULTIMEDIA EQUIPMENT, or the necessary editing/filming equipment we need to put together our 3-minute promo!! I think we seriously need to get an extension until Thursday the 8th of February if this is true. This is totally beyond our control...

Anyway, here's how the land lies...

We're still working under the assumption that there will be no extension, and we're scrounging-around-for-equipment here, access-to-someone's-house-where-we-can-use-editing-software there, and it's not looking like it's going to be as good as it could be if we had the proper facilities.

We've got our script done, storyboard done, and filming, with "green screen", done (but we don't have a DV Camcorder to stream footage off the tape onto the computer for editing!).

I, as project manager, am currently working on the Project Report, including our project goals and research (to be published with our script and photographic storyboard). I need access to Photoshop and Dreamweaver to finish developing the mocked-up images of the website...with no access to University Macs, this will be very difficult...

Adrian, our Chief Producer, is currently trying to get hold of a DV camera to stream footage off the tape we used when shooting the promo footage against the green screen, and will have to do the editing at home (luckily, he has got a copy of Final Cut Pro at home...I don't think all the groups will be so lucky, which is also why I think an extension is necessary). He is also looking for some background images to set as the backdrop to our actions and make it look like we were "on location" to a certain extent...

Ok, I'm going to get something to eat, because I've been working on this for a few hours now!

Ill continue the update in a bit...

Is this right?!

I've now e-mailed the rough draft of the "script" for our promo to my group for their scrutiny. It's really hard doing this without being able to actually be with the group, so I'll be relieved when we meet up next week to flesh the ideas out a bit more and make them a bit clearer.

The concept we are working on is more like a mini-movie intercut with images of the website. I hope this is the right thing to be doing? I'm at that point in the assignment where you start to question yourself and what you're doing to the extent where you just want to throw your hands up and go and shout at your next-door neighbour for no other reason than it would be a welcome distraction from how crap your attempt at the assignment is!! ;-)

Anyway, next, I'm going to draw up a proper delegation list to try to develop the things that we know we definitely need.

Laters...
